Terms of service

Who we are and what these terms cover

CommaSpace ("we", "us", "our") provides an AI-assisted content generation platform available at scrive.live and its subdomains.

CommaSpace
Rose Farm Studios, Moore, Warrington, United Kingdom
info@scrive.live

These terms form a binding agreement between you (and, where you sign up on behalf of an organisation, that organisation) and us. By creating an account, accessing the platform, or using any generated content, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use CommaSpace.

Accounts, eligibility and teams

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract to use CommaSpace.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of your account details, for keeping your sign-in credentials secure, and for all activity carried out under your account.
  • Workspaces may include multiple members with different roles (owner, admin, editor, viewer). The workspace owner controls membership, plan and billing, and is responsible for the actions of everyone they invite.
  • Workspace owners and admins can see, edit and delete content created in that workspace by other members. Do not put anything in a shared workspace that you do not want other members to see.
  • Tell us promptly at info@scrive.live if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

Plans, credits, billing and cancellation

  • Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through our payment provider. Prices are shown on our pricing page and are exclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
  • Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance. Credits are consumed when you generate or translate content, are reset at the start of each billing period, and do not roll over or carry forward. Credits have no cash value and are not refundable or transferable.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing area; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period and you keep access until then.
  • Except where the law gives you a right to a refund, fees already paid are non-refundable, including for partly used periods or unused credits.
  • Free trials, where offered, run for the stated period and may be limited in features. We may end or change trials at any time.
  • We may change plan prices or credit allowances. We will give account holders at least 30 days' notice by email or in the app, and changes take effect at your next renewal.
  • If a payment fails, we may suspend access to paid features until the balance is settled.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use CommaSpace to:

  • break any law, regulation, or third-party right;
  • create or distribute content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or that sexualises minors;
  • impersonate a person, brand or organisation, or produce content designed to deceive people about who is speaking;
  • generate spam, bulk unsolicited messaging, malware, phishing material, or knowingly false claims about products, health, finance or elections;
  • upload material to a knowledge base that you do not have the rights to use, or that contains special category personal data;
  • attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, resell, or provide the platform as a competing service, or share your account with people outside your workspace;
  • probe, overload, or interfere with the platform, circumvent credit limits or usage controls, or gain unauthorised access to any part of the service.

We may investigate suspected breaches and remove content or suspend accounts where necessary.

Your content and generated output

  • You keep ownership of everything you put into CommaSpace: inputs, briefs, knowledge base documents, brand and tone profiles, and edits you make.
  • As between you and us, you own the content generated for you and may use it for any lawful purpose, including commercially. We claim no ownership of your output.
  • You grant us a limited licence to host, process and display your content solely to operate the platform for you and your workspace. We do not use your content to train our own models.
  • AI systems can produce similar output for similar prompts, so we cannot guarantee your output is unique or that it can be registered as intellectual property.
  • You are responsible for holding the necessary rights to any material you upload to a knowledge base, and for the rights position of any third-party names, trade marks or quotations that appear in your output.

AI output disclaimer

CommaSpace uses large language models. Output can be inaccurate, out of date, biased, or plainly wrong, and may misstate facts, figures, prices, claims or regulations even when it reads convincingly.

You must review, fact-check and approve every piece of content before you publish or rely on it. CommaSpace is a drafting tool, not a substitute for professional judgement, and nothing it produces is legal, financial, medical, regulatory or other professional advice. You remain solely responsible for what you publish, including compliance with advertising, consumer, accessibility and data protection rules.

Our intellectual property and your licence to use CommaSpace

The platform itself — software, design, branding, templates, prompts and documentation — belongs to us or our licensors. Subject to these terms and payment of any applicable fees, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use CommaSpace for your own business or personal purposes. Nothing here transfers any of our intellectual property to you.

We welcome feedback and suggestions, and may use them to improve the service without obligation to you.

Availability, changes and termination

  • We aim to keep CommaSpace available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, updates, third-party outages and events outside our control can affect availability.
  • We may add, change or withdraw features. Where a change materially reduces a core paid feature, we will give reasonable notice.
  • You may stop using CommaSpace and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where you breach these terms, where required by law, or where your use creates risk to the platform or other users.
  • On termination, your licence ends. We will retain and delete data as described in our privacy policy. Export anything you need before closing your account.

Liability and indemnity

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, the platform is provided "as is" and we exclude all implied warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, anticipated savings, business opportunity, or for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss or damage arising from your reliance on unreviewed AI output. Our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the greater of the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim, or £100.

If you use CommaSpace for business, you agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from content you publish, material you upload, or your breach of these terms.

Data protection

Our handling of personal data is described in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. Where you upload personal data to a knowledge base, you act as the controller of that data and we process it on your behalf in order to provide the service.

Governing law, disputes and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may bring proceedings in their country of residence where local law allows.

If something goes wrong, contact us first at info@scrive.live — most issues are resolved quickly.

We may update these terms as the service develops. The date at the top of the page shows when they were last revised, and material changes will be notified to account holders by email or in the app. Continuing to use CommaSpace after a change means you accept the updated terms.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it.
